OverviewDynamic Football02

Goals change games.

Finishing is the part of football every player wants to get better at, and it is a specialty of Dynamic Football coach Josh Bigos. Josh has represented some of Victoria's most respected clubs, including South Melbourne, Bentleigh Greens and Malvern City, and has a real love for helping players become confident and clinical in front of goal.

Our finishing and shooting training in Melbourne combines quality repetition with the composure to take chances when they come. Players build better technique, then learn to use it under pressure.

Finishing training in depthDynamic Football04

Accuracy before power

Many young players try to hit every shot as hard as they can. But a well-placed finish into the corner beats a powerful shot straight at the goalkeeper. Our finishing training teaches players to prioritise placement, then add power once their technique is consistent.

The details of a good strike

Good finishing comes down to details: the position of the standing foot, keeping the head and chest over the ball, and striking through the right part of the ball. Small adjustments can make a big difference to accuracy and keep shots on target.

Inside the box, finishing is often about passing the ball into the net. We coach side-foot finishes, one-touch finishes and finishing from different angles.

Composure comes from repetition

The players who look calm in front of goal have usually taken thousands of shots in training. The more quality repetitions a player gets, the more confident they feel when a real chance arrives. Our sessions give players lots of shooting practice in situations that feel like real games.

Learn from a coach who loves finishing

Josh brings a real passion for helping players score goals. Read his coach profile, or try the tips in our article on how to be more clinical in front of goal.

Finishing from different situations

Goals come from many situations: one-on-ones with the goalkeeper, cut-backs across the box, rebounds, crosses and shots from outside the area. Our finishing training covers a range of situations so players are ready for whatever chance comes their way.

Practise finishing at home

Finishing improves with repetition. Even a small backyard goal or a target on a wall helps. Focus on placement and technique, use both feet and keep count of how many hit the target so you can track your progress.

No. Every player benefits from being more confident and composed in front of goal.
